1What is it?
The Present Simple is the tense for things that are always true, and things you do regularly — every day, every week, on Sundays.
2Why do we use it?
Most of everyday conversation is Present Simple: your job, your routine, your family, what you like. If you master one tense first, master this one.
3The simple rule
Use the base verb. Add -s (or -es) only for he, she, it.

5Easy examples

8Common mistakes
She work in a hospital.
She works in a hospital.
Why: He / she / it needs the -s.
He don’t know.
He doesn’t know.
Why: With he / she / it, the -s moves to “does” → doesn’t. The main verb stays plain.
I am having two brothers.
I have two brothers.
Why: For things you own or family you have, use “have”, not “am having”.
Does she likes it?
Does she like it?
Why: Once you use “does”, the verb goes back to its base form.
