Singular and plural

Make plurals with -s / -es / -ies and know the common irregular ones.

Goal: Make plurals with -s / -es / -ies and know the common irregular ones.

Singular = one. Plural = more than one. Most nouns add -s (book → books). Nouns ending in s, x, ch, sh add -es (bus → buses, watch → watches). Consonant + y changes to -ies (baby → babies). Some are irregular: man → men, woman → women, child → children, foot → feet, tooth → teeth, mouse → mice, person → people.
