Most people assume that motivation comes first and action follows. In my experience, it’s the reverse. Action generates motivation. The trick is to make the first step so small that it’s almost embarrassing not to do it. Two minutes of reading. One sentence of writing. A single push-up. Once you’ve started, continuing is far easier than starting was. Consistency, not intensity, is what compounds.
