The Two Goats on the Bridge

There was a narrow bridge over a river. Only one goat could cross at a time.

One day, a white goat started crossing from one side.

At the same time, a black goat started crossing from the other side.

They met in the middle. “Move!” said one. “No, YOU move!” said the other.

They pushed and pushed. Splash! Both goats fell into the river.

The next day they met again. This time the white goat lay down, and the black goat stepped over gently. Both crossed safely.
