The Rabbit Who Shared
Baby Rabbit finds a giant carrot and learns that sharing makes everyone happier.
Ages 3–5 · 6 pages · Lesson: SharingBaby Rabbit found a big juicy carrot in the garden. It was the biggest carrot she had ever seen!
She wanted to eat it all by herself. She hugged the carrot tight and hopped happily toward home.
On the way, she saw Squirrel. Squirrel's tummy was rumbling. "I haven't found any food today," said Squirrel sadly.
Baby Rabbit looked at her big carrot. She thought for a moment... then broke off a piece and gave it to Squirrel.
Next, she met Hedgehog, who was hungry too. Baby Rabbit shared another piece, and then another with Bird.
Soon the carrot was gone, but Baby Rabbit felt warm and happy inside — happier than if she had eaten it all alone.
Sharing with others doesn't make you have less — it makes everyone, including you, feel more happy.
Talk about it
Ask your child: What happened first? Who was kind? What would you do? Then let them retell the story in their own words.
